A snow day at Austin's and Shawnee's house

On Friday December 26th, we went to Austin and Shawnee's house in Eden for a day of sledding. They have such a long driveway that we could just sled down it. Had to be careful not to go right into the highway below though. Even though it was COLD, we still had lot's of fun. Thanks you guys for all the hot chocolate!

We're going to Disneyland in the Spring!

We had a "Camo" Christmas for all the Grandkids. Kenidee and Kaden was too big to get the camo clothes, but they liked their new outfits as well.
Our Christmas this year was a trip to Disneyland for all of us! The kids got all the information they needed to plan our trip in the Spring. They each got a gift card to use for spending money at the park. We're hoping for an early May trip.

Kenidee's team plays championship game

Kenidee has been playing basketball on a recreation team this winter. They went the whole season without losing one game. Saturday, they played a Roy city team and won the championship. Way to go girls!

A day for a Movie Party

On Saturday December 20, we (my family) was invited to the Megaplex 12 theators in the Gateway in Salt Lake City to view the movie "The Tale of Despereaux". We all got free drinks and popcorn too. The weather was great; so it made the trip really nice. What a fun time to be in a huge theator all together.

A New cub scout in the family!

Kaden is our first cub scout grandson. I think I am more excited for him than he is to be a scout. As soon as he got his uniform on; I noticed that he would find his reflection in our windows out in our back room and he would salute himself.
He is really excited to attend his first den meeting.

Kaden turns eight!

Kaden received scriptures for his birthday from us. He looked just like a future missionary. The very first thing he did was look up his favorite scripture and read it to his Grandma Vickie.

His ward primary gave his marking pencils and a book to record his memories of the day.

My first tag! Thanks Bridgette

I am-A wife, a mother, a grandma, a sister, a daughter, a Sunbeam teacher, a Cubmaster
I know- That the Gospel is true and Jesus Christ is my Savior
I want- my kids to be healthy, happy and prosperous
I have- an incredible husband who goes after his dreams
I dislike-pickles
I miss- going to visit parents on Sunday evenings
I feel-extremely blessed
I hear- ringing in my ears sometimes
I smell-the wonderful roast we had for dinner tonight
I crave-being able to eat sweets
I cry- at sad movies
I wonder- what this next year will bring
I regret-not being able to lose 20 pounds
I love-my family; especially the grandkids
I care- about my 9 little sunbeams
I worry- About the future economy
I remember-When Scott gave me our first kiss
I believe- in the church of Jesus Christ
I dance-when I hear music with a beat
I don't-like people who pretend to be your friend
I write- In my journal often. Used to be weekly; not so much lately
I win- prizes if I would attend the Avon meetings
I lose- my mind all the time. I seem to forget what I entered that room for.
I wish-I had perfect health
I listen- to the kids going to Fremont High every morning in their cars.
I can - golf. I am improving my ability to hit a ball down the fairway a respectable distance.
I am scared- that I might lose a child or grandchild like my sister and brother did
I forget- Names of people that I know. Or once knew
I am happy- When I am at our cabin with my family

Addison needed a close-up!

Addison reminds me alot of Jolene as a baby.
But to look at her; you can really see her sister
Brianne; the way Brianne looks at 2 years, not
Brianne so much as a baby.

Our newest grandaughter! #13

On Tues. November 4th nerves were flying high at the Jenkins household.
Scott was anxiously awaiting the results of the election for his running for
the Senate for a 3rd term. But the high-light of the day was our second daughter
Jolene gave birth to a 8 lb. 2 oz. baby girl. Her name will be Addison Young.
(by the way; Scott did win and he also won a chance to serve in leadership at
the capital by being elected as the new majority whip for the next 2 years.)

Our last final canning time of the season

Our last canning project was applesauce!. Using only apples from our TWO trees,
we got 198 jars! It's nice to do it yourself because some of the kids wanted sugar-free
for their babies. ALL the kids came and participated. It still was a long day. 7 hours!
The garage made a nice wide area to do our production. Thanks kids!

Halloween at the Jenkins House

Matt and Irene, Owen and Olivia
Jennifer's crew. Kenidee, Kaden, Reagan, James, and Kaycee
Jolene's kids Griffin & Brianne
Our Scooby-Do clan--Erik, Kelli, Hannah, Cameron & Kate

We had all our kids visit for Halloween.
As you can see; some of the adults dressed
up. What fun we had! The only picture I don't
have would be of Austin and Shawnee.
My picture was taken at pack meeting the night
before. Do you like me as a red head?

A Farewell to my niece Rachael

My niece Rachael ( my sister Cindy's daughter) died in a automobile crash with a 800 lb. moose just outside Malad, Idaho on October 17. She was coming to the Ogden area with her cousin Lisa to do some shopping and errands. The girls were attending BYU-Idaho. At 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon a moose wandered out into the freeway and crossed 4 lanes of traffic. Rachael and Lisa had their vision blocked by a Suburban and ran right into the moose, killing it and Rachael. Lisa just escaped with a few cuts, scapes and bruises. So my brother Gary and I flew out to Minnesota (where both girls were from) to attend the funeral and spend a few days with our sister and brother-in-law. What a tragic thing! Thank goodness for the gospel. Only God knows why such things happen.

It's Harvest Time!

We got a great yield on our apples this year.
We think that we will need a bigger ladder next year!

Successful Elk Hunt!

Scott purchased a special elk tag for an area by Monte Cristo. With it being only an hour away; he went several mornings before work. He has never seen anything like this in his life! Bulls everywhere! Bugling everywhere. Grunting everywhere! Erik and Austin were able to go with him several times and really enjoyed it too. But the campaign needed attention; so Scott finally settled on this bad boy! A nice 6 by 7. Not the biggest he had seen however; but I guess there is always next year.

Scott's brother Glen told us of a guy that will come right to your house (garage) and cut up your meat right on the spot. What a slick deal!

"aarg, there Maties" It's fun to be a cubmaster!

I have been a cubmaster for a year now. Unfortunately; I have only one cubscout.

Our most recent pack meeting. We dressed up as pirates and went on a treasure hunt.

Paul and Teresa Versey are cubmasters in the other ward that shares our pack meeting. So between the two wards we have about 18 boys. (including my one)

Golfing pays off

This summer I have been golfing each week with Carolyn Hales. We have a great time. This last week, it paid off for us. We got in for free! and even when we went inside for drinks after our game; we got those for free too. Something that has never happened to Scott!

The ball that is the closest to the hole is mine! How frustrating is that?

Labor Day at Bear Lake

Labor day weekend had all of us at Bear Lake for one last beach time. The kids could stay for hours in the sand and water. We don't have a boat or wave runners; but for right now it's ok, because the kids just love the beach. Hannah and Griffin show their treasure of shells.
If you remember; Monday which was Labor Day it rained all day. So no beach time, but Reagan brought an umbrella and it was fun to just be in the rain.

A Build a Bear Birthday for Reagan and Hannah

Reagan who is Jennifer's daughter and Hannah who is Erik's daughter just recently turned 5 years old. Their birthdays are two weeks apart. So this year we went to Build a Bear at the Gateway in Salt Lake City to add two new friends to our family.

Reagan is showing us Gabriella

Hannah shows us Katie

The girls brought their new friends to our cabin over the Labor Day weekend.

What's this city girl doing milking a cow?

How fun is this? I have never even gotten this close to a cow, let alone milk one!

Owen shows us all how to milk a cow

Irene's son Owen is fascinated with the workings of this mother cow and where his morning milk comes from. All the grandkids had a great time on the farm at the Heritage Center in Logan.

Down on the Farm

For a recent family reunion, The Jenkins family went to Logan and we spent some time at the American Heritage Center. All the kids loved it! We even got to milk a cow that had just given birth 3 days prior to us being there. Here is Scott. (probably not the first cow he has ever milked)
